Season's Greetings

Sorry it's been so long since I've last updated. I've decided I'm not going to try keeping up with my blog anymore, but if I feel inspired to post something I will. After making this monumental decision, it was amazing how quickly my blogger guilt disappeared!

Here is an update on our family:

Brett is still going strong with his own business. It's been quite the adventure, but we are learning new things every day. Doing it all on his own has been fun for me to watch Brett grow & become an amazing leader. In Brett's free time he is usually hunting/chasing something with our two hounds.

As for me, I am still trying to keep my head above water. Between my boys, teaching, Brett's book work, & keeping up on my house, I've had my hands full. That is another reason why I am not dedicating much of my time on this blog. My free time is spent on my family, excersizing, or reading a good book.

Reed will be turning 5 in January! We can't believe how fast time flies. This year Reed has been doing so well at preschool, and he can't wait to come to his Mom's school next year. I hope he continues to love learning because it makes things much easier for everyone! Reed also has become Brett's best friend. Reed isn't afraid to do anything, so Brett is constantly taking Reed everywhere with him. We've loved watching Reed grow into a little boy.

Last but not least, Jett will be 3 in March. It's amazing watching him progress so fast. He follows Reed everywhere and learns everything he can from his older brother (sometimes too much). Our focus right now with Jett is potty training. Boy does it get frustrating some times! Jett is also quite a stubborn child when he wants to be, but he is also VERY funny & loveable!

The other night Reed & I wrote a letter to Santa Claus telling him some ideas of what to get us for Christmas. Reed dictated the letter to me & I was the scribe. Reed asked for a water gun, long rope, head light, real live kitty cat, gun that shoots arrows, flowers to give his Mom, a purse for Jett, a new ring for his Dad, and his very own dishwasher. WOW does he have quite the wish list! Oh & now every night when he says his prayers, Reed prays to Santa Claus too. We asked Jett what he wants Santa to bring him for Christmas & Jett said he wants bouncy balls and marshmallows. What a simple kid!

I hope you have enjoyed this Henrie update. You might not see another for a really long time. We just want to wish everyone a merry Christmas and best wishes for a happy new year!

Goodbye Tonsils!

This picture was taken last Wednesday right before Reed got his tonsils taken out. The poor kid had the world's largest tonsils for a 4-year-old. When he gets a sore throat, his tonsils touch each other. That can't be good. Plus, he struggles breathing at night (snoring). The doctor decided it was time for Reed to part with his tonsils.

Reed did really well all the way up until he woke up from surgery. He was hysterical for about an hour. He kept trying to rip out is I.V. and making the most horrible sounds (coughing, burping, screaming...) The nurses had to give him some more morphine, and luckily he cried himself to sleep. That was probably one of the hardest times I've had as a parent so far. I finally had to give Reed to Brett while I went into the bathroom and cried. It broke my heart.

The next day Reed had a bunch of visitors bring him TONS of Popsicles. His cousins, Gracie & Jack, came over to see how he was doing. Apparently he was doing well enough to play in the pool & lay out with them. It was the second day after surgery that the pain hit. It has been a week since his surgery, and Reed is just barely talking & eating. The poor guy was in a lot of pain. I just want to thank all of our family & friends for all of your support, Popsicles, prayers, and visits. We really appreciate you!

American Idol Winner - David Cook

So I was enjoying lunch at Applebee's at the Gateway when I noticed a familiar face sitting at the table next to me. My friends didn't believe me when I told them it was David Cook, the American Idol winner, so I was going to prove them wrong. I walked over to his table and asked him if he was David Cook. He smiled & said, "Yes, who are you?" Of course I had to make a complete idiot of myself. I told him my name is Becky & that I watched his whole season. We talked for a little bit, and after lunch we went outside & I took a picture with him. He was really nice. He was in town for the Real soccer game doing their half time show. The funny thing was that no one else in Applebee's recognized him.

T-Ball for Reed

This was Reed's first year playing t-ball. I think his parents enjoyed him playing more than he enjoyed it. When you put that many 4-6 year olds on a field, you pretty much get a dog pile each time the ball is hit. Reed wasn't the fastest kid, so he gave up trying to get to the ball first & just played in the dirt. Other than running to 3rd base after he hit the ball, Reed was catching on to the game.

I just want to thank any parent that takes on the role of coaching t-ball. I'm glad it's you and not me!

World's Worst Blogger Award goes to....BECKY

Hello blogging friends. It's been a while. I haven't posted or looked at anyone's blog for the past 6 months. If you are a reader of my blog & you would like me to keep blogging, I would appreciate it if you would let me know. I'm just trying to decide if it's worth keeping up. For now, I will just update you with a few posts.
