My Most Recent Doctor's Appointment

So as of tomorrow I will be 34 weeks along and I had a doctor's appointment this afternoon. The ultrasound looked great and the doctor said our little guy is measuring on the big side for 34 weeks. The nurse said that women don't usually get checked to see if they've dialated until their 36 week appointment, but the doctor wanted to check me today because Reed came 3 weeks early and I started dialating around 33 weeks my last pregnancy.

Sure enough it looks like this little guy is going to follow in his big brother's footsteps because I am dialated to a 2 already and I'm 50% effaced (if that means anything to anyone). The doctor thinks this baby is going to come early like Reed did because I'm already at a 2. That was bitter sweet news to hear. I was excited to have a good ultrasound and measurements but I don't know if I'm quite ready for an early arrival. I still have a lot of "nesting" to do. I'll keep you posted on any updates as they come.

The Growing Belly - 33 Weeks

I thought you might all want to see an update on my present condition. I am 33 weeks along and getting bigger and bigger each day. This past weekend I started my "nesting" rituals. Brett helped me get Reed's 0-3 month clothes out and I washed the carseat, bouncer, swing, and bassinett. While I was cleaning and doing laundry, Brett cleaned my carpets! I have an amazing husband. We are excited for our new little guy and we can't believe how fast time has flown by with this pregnancy. I guess that's what happens when you are chasing a 2 year old around every day.

We haven't come up with any boy names yet but we are hoping to have that figured out soon. If you have any suggestions for us we could use the help.

I have come to realize that I will be COMPLETELY out numbered. Five boys and one girl (Brett, Reed, baby boy, and 2 boy dogs). I'm hoping for at least ONE daughter some day.

A couple of random updates...

I've been falling behind on my blog updates and I'm going to try to catch up in one post -

We took Reed to Hardware Ranch last month and he loved it. There were over 500 elk in the field when we went and they said the number gets bigger each day.

Reed got a "Big Boy Bed" and he loved it for about a week and now he prefers to sleep on the floor right in front of the door. Brett and I have no clue why he does this. We wait until he falls asleep and then we carry him back to bed. If he ever wakes up during the night he lays down on the floor again. If anyone has any suggestions for us we could use help figuring out our son.

So if any of you know my husband, you have probably learned that Valentine's Day is his LEAST favorite holiday. In fact, he says he hates it. His opinion is that Valentine's Day is a holiday for bad husbands to make up for their faults by purchasing gifts for their wives. He informs me that he doesn't need a holiday to show his love for me. So I have come to expect nothing from Brett on Valentine's Day. As for me, I am still a fan of this holiday. Luckily I have 28 fourth graders that show their love for me with Sponge Bob and High School Musical Valentine cards and candy. I knew I picked teaching for a reason. Brett is a big archery hunter so I suprised him with a half dozen "arrows" instead of roses. He was pretty excited and I was glad I could make him smile on that dreadful day of his.

This past Saturday we decided Reed needed a day out on the town so we took him to the Magic Treehouse in Ogden and then out to dinner. He was in heaven and it was fun to see him drag both of us around to check everything out. There was a lot for him to look at and he didn't want to leave.

Late Valentine's Tag

My dear friend Chelsey tagged me to answer some questions pertaining to Valentine's Day. Here you go:
How long have you been together? We have been married for 4 ½ years How long did you date? We met in May of 2001 and dated up until we got married in August of 2003. Two of those years we had the long distance relationship going on because I was living in Provo and Brett was in Brigham. It was tough, but definitely worth it!

How old is he? He just turned 26 this month. Don’t ask him how old he is because he hates getting older.
Who eats more? Before this pregnancy I would have said Brett does, but now I think we probably eat about the same (at least my growing waist size tells me this).

Who said I LOVE YOU first? Brett did and I didn’t hear him correctly. He said, “I really think I love you” and my response was, “Thanks, I think about you a lot too”. He got really quiet and that’s when I realized I didn’t hear him correctly and then it clicked in my head what he really said. By then the moment was over. It took some time before he dared say it again, but when he did, I let him know the feeling was mutual.

Who is taller? Brett by a couple of inches
Who sings better? We don’t sing. I think we are equally bad singers.

Who is smarter? I would say I am smarter when it comes to subject knowledge and fourth grade curriculum, but Brett is realistically smarter (if that makes any sense at all).

Who does the laundry? I do the laundry unless I’ve forgotten to wash Brett’s carharts then he throws in a load every now and then. He did fold my mountain of clean clothes the other day for Valentine’s Day. I loved it!

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Brett does
Who pays the bills? We do it together and that’s the way I prefer it.

Who mows the lawn? Unfortunately we don’t have a lawn yet but if we did Brett tells me I will be in charge of mowing the lawn. I politely informed him that I maintain and clean the inside of the house and he is to take care of the outside. Maybe that is why I don’t have a lawn yet…

Who cooks dinner? I don’t know if you can call it “cooking” but it is me that gets the family fed. Brett loves to barbeque and make breakfasts.

Who has more siblings? We both have 3 other siblings.
Who drives when you are together? It is usually Brett but every now and then I drive.

Who is the first to admit they are wrong? Me. I have a guilty conscience.

Who is more Stubborn? I want to say it’s Brett, but I know it’s really me. Especially when I’m pregnant….sorry babe.

Who kissed who first? Once again I want to say Brett, but I was the one who kissed him first. He just wasn’t catching all of my hints so I had to take the bull by the horns and lay one on him. I think he was pleasantly surprised.

Who Proposed? Brett did (if you call it a proposal). Not much thought or effort went into the moment.

Who is more sensitive? That would be me. I cry over everything (especially when I’m pregnant). Who wears the pants in the family? I think we take turns wearing the pants. Sometimes he wears them, sometimes I wear them, and then there are times we are both trying to wear them at the same time. It can get pretty frustrating.
My husband is an amazing man. I want to tell Brett how much I love you and I appreciate everything you do for us.

HaPpY LaTe VaLeNtInEs EVERYONE!
