Santa at Walmart

You'll never believe who we ran into this morning at Walmart.....SANTA CLAUS!! We went in search of milk, and ended up on Santa's lap. I tried to get the boys to sit with Santa by themselves, but I think it was a little bit too early for both Reed & Jett. Reed ran away from Santa & Jett just cried when I set him on his lap. So I had to hold both boys on MY lap while I sat on Santa's lap.

It turned out to be fun for the boys because they got to tell Santa what they wanted him to bring them for Christmas. Reed asked for bunkbeds & Jett agreed with Reed. I hope Santa follows through with that one!

Outside Christmas Lights

This year Brett made it very clear to me he has no intentions of putting up Christmas lights on the outside of our house. After many arguements & a little bit of begging, Brett still refused to give in to my request for Christmas lights.

This year Reed has loved looking at all of the lights outside, and I was determined to have lights on our house too. So over my Thanksgiving break, I climbed up and put the lights up by myself. After 2 LONG days struggling with the ladder, a frosty/steep roof, and unreachable plugs, I finally finished. Here is the final product-

Polar Express

This year my Mom arranged for us to spend the night before Thanksgiving riding the Polar Express in Heber. It was so much fun! The kids loved it, and they got to talk with Mr. & Mrs. Claus on the train. Thanks Mom for the memory!

Thanksgiving Day with the Merrells

On Thanksgiving day, my side of the family decided to pose for a big family pic. This is all of us except for my little brother Jeff (serving a mission in Canada).

Mocktail Parties with the Girls

For the past 2 months some of my friends have put together "Mocktail" parties. It's a fun girl's night out with good company. Here are a few pictures from party #1 & #2.

Halloween Party

Brett & I dressed up as Mr. and Mrs. Incredible for a Halloween party this year.

Halloween with Superman & Batman

This is the conversation I had with Reed when deciding what he should dress up as this year –

Me - Reed, what do you want to be this year for Halloween?
Reed - A princess
Me - You can't be a princess, you're not a girl.
Reed - Then I want to be a girl for Halloween.
Me - No way, your dad would be very mad at me.
Reed - I just want to match Jett this year.

So we settled on Superman & Batman costumes because I found printed t-shirts & I only spent $10 on costumes this year. Here are a few pictures from our Halloween. Better late than never!

Baxter vs. Porcupine

Last night Brett took the dogs raccoon hunting, and they didn't get home until a little bit after 1:00 AM. Brett woke me up & dragged me out of bed because he needed my help. Instead of hunting raccoons last night, both of our dogs tried to take down a porcupine. Syre (not pictured) was the luckier dog of the two because he had half as many quills stuck in his face, mouth, and ears compared to Baxter (below).
Brett held the dogs down while I pulled quills out with pliers. It was the saddest thing. Luckily, Syre held relatively still, and we were able to get him all cleaned up. Baxter on the other hand wouldn't even let us get the pliers close to him. We went to bed thinking we were going to have to take Baxter into a vet today, & let them give him some anesthetic to get his quills pulled out.
This morning Brett's Dad came over, and between the two of them they were able to clean Baxter up. It looked like quite the painful process. Hopefully our dogs have learned their lesson & won't chase after anymore porcupines!

Raptors Game

We took Reed to a Raptor's game last weekend, & even though the Raptors lost, we had a lot of fun . Unfortunately, Jett is too busy and little to enjoy all 9 innings of a baseball game, so we left him home with a sitter. By the end of the night Reed & I got a little bored so we decided to have a funny-face photo shoot.

Brett's Triathlon

In June, Brett competed in the Hyrum Triathlon with his brother, sister-in-law, and his dad. They all did great, & I was so proud of Brett. He had great times on all three legs, and ended up placing in the top ten of his age group. Congratulations Babe!

St. George with the Christensens

Every year Brett and I go on a St. George trip with our good friends Nate and Chelsey. Chelsey and I had so much fun hanging out at the spa while our husbands played a couple of rounds of golf. I look forward to this trip each year & I can't wait until next year!

We decided to see what Brett would look like with black hair. This Brett & Chelsey during the rinsing process.

Brett always pulls the goofiest faces. He has a hard time looking normal when his picture is being taken.

HAPPY UNBIRTHDAY MRS. HENRIE

For Teacher Appreciation Week this year, my cute 4th graders decided to celebrate my "unbirthday". My birthday is August, so my students decided to throw an unbirthday party instead.
I showed up to school one day to find my classroom all decorated with balloons and banners wishing me a happy UNbirthday. I was so surprised & I had no clue they were planning all of it. I had excellent students with amazing mothers to help put all of that together. Thanks guys for all of the presents & goodies!

Supercross in SLC

In May we went to the Supercross in Salt Lake. It rained on us the whole day, but we had fun anyway. We left the kids with my Mom and Dad, but we are thinking next year Reed will be old enough to go with us. Even though our buddy Chad Reed didn't win, we still had fun. Our seats were right by the triple, and when the riders weren't racing, they were standing right in front of us watching the race. It was really fun.The TripleJames Stewart leaving to go race.Brett & Mike Metzger

Kiddie Kandids

Here are some pictures we had taken at Kiddie Kandids a couple months ago. Sorry for being so behind on my blogging. Our computer is in Jett's room right now, and whenever I have free time to catch up on my blog, Jett is usually asleep & my computer is unavailable while he is sleeping.

Easter Sunday

We had a great Easter this year. I'm glad I was able to be a part of the celebration this time. Last year I was in the hospital having Jett. The boys had fun finding Easter eggs and playing with their cousins. Thanks Annie for letting us come celebrate at your house this year!
